John & Norma established Golden Moment Farm in 1997. 150 taps were drilled for the 1st time in the spring of 1998. It was certainly difficult getting a business started following the ice storm of the century but we did. Through the years we grew – now tapping 4000 plus on pipeline utilizing the latest in efficient and environmentally friendly technology while maintaining our quality and taste. In fact the feedback received most often from our visitors is – WOW – this is awesome!
As we built our business we focused on building our local market – currently selling at the farm and in 15+ stores, bakeries and butcher shops within a 100 KM radius. Our website is active and a preorder form is available to allow for customers to peruse our product list and then send it directly through the website to us. The order can be available for pickup either at the farm or at a convenient location.
On Sweet Maple Weekend we look forward to seeing lots of visitors. We are open both Saturday and Sunday from 10 am to 3 pm. John, Norma and friends and family will be available to answer your questions and explain the system that we are now operating. And of course there will be product for sale. Special of the day will be our signature ‘Maple Sample Gift Bag’ at a discounted price for you.
Hot chocolate and coffee will be available along with samples of our main products. Taffy on the Snow demonstrations will be throughout the day. Our walking trail to the bush will be plowed and ready for you to enjoy a walk out through the maple bush. Of course, our Golden Retrievers and Clydesdale horses are always a hit for animal lovers.
