Amalgamation Acres and Legacy Maple
Amalgamation Acres and Legacy Maple
Maple Syrup Producer
Hosted by Brian & Annette MacKenzie
We began our farm story in 2012 when we married and formed a partnership of our existing individual operations. We are primarily a cash crop farm producing corn, spring grains, forages, wheat, soybeans, and black beans, but have backgrounds in beef and pork production as well. We do some hobby livestock farming for gate sales of freezer meat and eggs, and have a small farm shoppe retailing natural home and body products and heritage handcrafts. Our syrup story began exactly this way, experimenting for diversity, and amalgamating different production techniques. We have a great appreciation for heritage and tradition and believe that there is still much value in older innovation. We hope that our children will grow up with the same respect for that heritage, for our ancestors, and for the land with the bounty and blessings it brings. With that in mind, we use a 1926 Sawyer Massey steam traction engine boiler in the production of our syrup which makes us different from others. We enjoy sharing this unique experience with our customers on our farm.
